Monochromatic Outfits

This monochromatic look is so chic & flattering.  It takes simplicity to a new level for outfits.  Wearing different hues of one color is another way to wear the look.  This is a really easy way for me to dress considering most of my clothes in my closet are either white, grey, or black.  I think it's important to accessorize with a different color, which doesn't have to be a bright or neon.  The last picture with the white & off white outfit looks so chic with a black bag & sunnies.  I've seen Kim Kardashian wearing a lot of monochromatic outfits & she looks absolutely amazing!  I always lean toward "less is more" when I am getting dressed.  And although I do think different prints can be fun, I rarely mess with them.  What can I say, I'm a minimalist kind of girl!

It's currently snowing outside so I had to take pictures in my apartment complex.  #Iowaproblems :)  I am wearing a pretty low key outfit today since it's so cold/snowy out.  It's been an overwhelming week being back at school & getting organized.  Time for a nap!  Hope everyone had a great Tuesday. xx

One of my new year's resolutions is to wear a little more color.  I think color in an outfit should be minimal & should be a statement piece.  I like buying my basics in neutral colors, but I think it's fun to get a colorful dress or jewelry.  I saw this Milly dress a week ago & I can't stop thinking about it.  The dress is a rich cobalt blue, and I think it would be so fun to wear over spring break.  I have a feeling I'll be wearing a lot of blue this summer.  These Alexander Wang mules are also amazing.  I love the tan color, too.  xx  

A week in Instagram

I'm ending this week with some of my instagram pictures!  Instagram is for sure my favorite social media at the moment.  I think editing and taking pictures is really fun :).  I've been busy this weekend working and preparing to head back to Iowa State for second semester, so I haven't had much time to do outfit pictures.  I hope you all are enjoying the "nice" 30 degree weather if you're in Iowa, hehe.  Have a great Sunday! xx

Tgif!  I'm not too excited it's the weekend because that just means work & back to school for me.  Although I am ready for classes to start up again, I'm going to miss being lazy and sleeping in.  My outfits are probably going to all start looking the same because of this weather.  It's freezing!  My scarf will also never come off because it does such a good job of keeping me warm.  I am obsessed with this BCBG leather jacket.  I got it when I started working at the store because the fit was unreal.  It is the most comfortable leather jacket I have ever tried on, and the discount didn't hurt either. :)  Hope everyone has a good Friday!  xx

A Few Of My Favorites

I am not a huge Alexa Chung fan, but this book will make my shelf beautiful.  It wasn't a bad read either.  I like to find out what inspires people, and Alexa explained quite a bit of that in her book.  I also love my Mollie necklace my mom got me for Christmas, just incase I forget my name :).  This lighting is bad but the Chanel nail polish is a perfect deep red.  My friend, Paige, got it for my birthday (its tradition).  I am obsessed with my mini iPad, it's the perfect size!  If you have chapped lips Rosebud Salve is a life savor!  Last but not least, my new sunnies!  I've always wanted a pair of classic Ray-Ban aviators.  xx
